`!AutoInterface`! is an IPv6 based `F0af`_`[peer`:/page/wiki.mu`path=Peer]`_`f discovery `F0af`_`[interface`:/page/wiki.mu`path=Interface]`_`f that automatically connects to other discoverable `F0af`_`[nodes`:/page/wiki.mu`path=Node]`_`f over local Ethernet or WiFi, without requiring IP infrastructure like routers, switches or DHCP servers.

It does however require that multicast UDP traffic is allowed on ports `B100`F9d929716`f`b and `B100`F9d942671`f`b, and that link-local IPv6 addresses are enabled (which it is by default on almost all operating systems).

`F0af`_`[RNS`:/page/wiki.mu`path=RNS]`_`f has only `B100`F9d9AutoInterface`f`b enabled in its default configuration.
